Yahoo Announces Comedy Series for Yahoo Screen
Yahoo has announced its two new online TV series. The comedy shows will be 30 minutes each and will launch on Yahoo Screen. Viewers can watch the series on a desktop or through the Yahoo Screen mobile app.
One of the shows, “Other Space,” is a sci-fi adventure directed by Paul Feig, the creator of “Freaks and Geeks.” The second show, “Sin City Saints,” is about a basketball team in Las Vegas produced by Mike Tollin who worked on “Smallville.” Each series will have eight episodes and will no doubt come with a big price tag for Yahoo, however will be completely free for viewers.
Yahoo hopes to grab the attention of new and current viewers in larger numbers, along with advertisers. With competition including Netflix and Hulu, it may be difficult to persuade online viewers to choose Yahoo over any alternatives.
Along with the new shows, Yahoo has announced its initiative to stream a live concert each day for year. The company has partnered with Live Nation, America’s largest concert promoter, and Kellogg’s will sponsor Yahoo’s Live Nation channel.
Yahoo also announced a new digital magazine, which will focus on travel. The company has recruited Travel + Leisure’s former deputy editor Laura Begley Bloom and Life & Style news director Joe Piazza to contribute content to the magazine.
Thanks for this post I will try it 🙂
