Avaya news July 2024: Supplier announces upcoming retirement of current CEO
In Avaya news for July 2024, the supplier announced that President and CEO Alan Masarek will retire at the end of the calendar year. The company also appointed a new chief people officer (CPO). Keep reading for details.
1. “Avaya Announces CEO Leadership Transition”
Masarek will retire after eight quarters with Avaya, during which he spearheaded transformation for the organization and positioned the company as a leading provider of enterprise customer experience (CX) solutions. Current Avaya Board of Directors Chair Patrick Dennis will become the new CEO effective September 1, 2024.
Dennis has 30 years of transformational leadership experience with companies specializing in enterprise software, cybersecurity, software as a service (SaaS), and communications. He is currently CEO of Venafi, a leader in the cybersecurity space.

2. “Avaya Continues Leadership Team Transformation with the Appointment of a Chief People Officer”
Effective June 3, Kamilah Thomas joined the company as the new senior vice president and chief people officer. She has over 20 years of experience in global human resources leadership and organizational transformation.
Before joining the Avaya team, Thomas worked for the tech company Roku as senior vice president of people and workplace experience. She also served as the CPO at Dow Jones & Company and the co-head of the people and culture department at A+E Networks.
