The World’s Most Expensive Phone
…Is approximately $8,184,968.42. Stuart Hughes, a British jeweler, sells this phone for £5,000,000. The iPhone 4 ‘Diamond Rose’ is made up of over 100 carats of diamonds, with the Apple logo containing 53 diamonds and the home button a single cut 7.4-carat pink diamond.
The First Mobile Phone
Martin Cooper, A Motorola employee, made the first mobile phone in 1973. It was called the Motorola DynaTAC and was launched in 1984 with a price tag of $3,995, which translates to about $9,000 today.
The First Smartphone
The first smartphone was introduced in 1993 with a retail price of $899. It weighed a little over a pound, and had an LCD touchscreen display. The smartphone, called Simon, is now a collector’s item.
