5 Advantages of Monitoring as a Service

The stability of a company network is key for day-to-day operations. Most businesses run some kind of online functionality, especially if they’re a product vendor making sales through Web portals. To this end, it’s important to keep all of that up and running, which is why companies often seek assistance from a managed service provider or monitoring service. If that’s unfamiliar territory, then read on. We’ll go over a few advantages of utilizing a monitoring service.

1. Cost effectiveness. While you can’t predict disaster, you can anticipate incoming network errors. Anything causing downtime in a business means lost profit, so prevention is ideal. Monitored services do just that by looking over various network activity and can catch errors before they occur. So, this means no downtime and subsequently no lost profit, making it a cost-effective service.

2. Better security. Sometimes it’s not network errors but a malignant attack that leads to downtime. Whether there’s an attempt to breach a company network or a rampaging piece of malware is attempting to sneak in, monitored providers will catch those unwanted malignancies and keep your business safe.

3. Increased productivity. MSPs also keep an eye on your current hardware and software, seeking out what’s inefficient, degrading, or working as intended. They can help by making suggestions to improve infrastructure or create roadmaps for upgrading technology. This, ultimately, leads to an increase in productivity across the board, since your workforce will have the latest upgrades.

4. Fewer IT concerns. Monitoring providers aren’t just there for keeping a close eye on network activity. In some cases, an MSP can offer their expertise to offload IT services, handling the entirety of that business aspect. IT problems, big or small, can be draining in both time and money, distracting a workforce from focusing on its goals. By handling those issues, your organization is free to concentrate on its objectives while also keeping your IT in a trusted safety network (assuming the provider is up to the task).

5. Flexibility. While larger businesses rely on technology more so than smaller companies, it’s likely at some point the latter will experience growth. As the small business grows, so do its needs. Third parties are flexible and grow with these changes, adapting in both price and service. That means a company, regardless of size, doesn’t have to worry about adopting a brand new provider with entirely different costs and skills.

It takes a lot to manage business networks, and even IT teams can’t catch everything. An MSP will constantly keep you up-to-date on possible intrusions, updates, network weaknesses, and an abundance of other services to help raise efficiency across the board. If you feel it’s a worthwhile cost, consider utilizing an MSP to bring your company to the next level.

  1. Perhaps getting an IT network monitoring service is not so bad since you said that it leads to better security as you mentioned which I think should help us secure our inventory better in the flower shop business. Since you pointed out that it leads to increased productivity, we might be able to get better numbers in production if we decide to make a switch and acquire such services. I do agree that this leads to fewer IT concerns as you also said since we no longer need other people to handle things for us so I might consider this move for the flower shop business before we start branching out this year.

  2. I liked that you mentioned that a managed security solution could lead to having an increase in productivity. I’ve been looking into having a managed security team helping me out. I also liked that you mentioned that it can be a cost-effective solution by reducing business downtime.
