CCS Case Study: Assisting an Investment Firm in Adding a Second Site and Establishing a Disaster Recovery Plan
Company BackgroundThe client is a Chicago-based investment firm focused on assisting investors in achieving long-term financial objectives.
Business ChallengeThe client was in the process of opening a new site. They had their own data centers at both locations replicated to each other in case one site or the other went down. They reached out to the Converged Communication Systems (CCS) team because they wanted to add the new site to their Avaya system and create a disaster recovery plan between the two sites with a primary and secondary server.
Converged Communication Systems Solution
Our team installed an Avaya Virtual Server Edition solution on the client's VMware environment. This solution acts as a failover if one site goes down. Additionally, they have a redundant Avaya Session Border Controller to terminate dial tone. We also implemented SIP trunks and Avaya one-X Communicator, on top of providing ongoing Avaya support.
As a result of our services and support, the client experiences the following benefits and advantages:
- High level of redundancy and resiliency
- An Avaya solution managed in their private cloud phone system that works for multiple sites and remote users
- Reduced hardware footprint
Ultimately, the client has the enterprise communications solutions and support needed to maintain optimal operations at all sites, as well as minimize downtime.
